Q: Why should I transfer my site? What does website migration include?

A: If your present hosting provider can no longer answer the demands of your website, or when you suffer from continual downtime, or if you are made to wait for hours for the help desk support staff to respond to you, it might be a smart idea to switch your web hosting provider, i.e. to move all the files for your sites together with your databases from your current provider to your future provider. At byowebhosting, we are aware that this can often be hard and time–consuming. That is why we will accomplish all that for you at no cost! Our highly professional technical team reps will migrate your site content from your current web hosting provider to us. Our technicians have lots of experience migrating web sites and are able to take care of anything – from a regular WordPress weblog or Joomla CMS–driven website, to a very elaborate, custom–built web app.

Q: Why should I transfer my site? What does website migration include?
Q: Web site migration seems like lots of work. How much time is it going to take?

A: There are a lot of variables to bear in mind – the overall amount of files, the physical size of the database, the complexity of the site itself and the current workload of our website migration experts, etc. That said, we do try to implement all website migrations within a 48–hour time period. Smaller–sized sites are transferred faster – usually in less than 24 hours.

Q: Do you require something from me before you start moving my web site?

A: We do not require any sensitive data. We will need, though, the login information for your old hosting account along with the name of the website that you want to move.

Q: Do you require something from me before you start moving my web site?
Q: The login info for my hosting account is sensitive. How can I rely on you?

A: Our Privacy Policy is an indivisible part of the contract that we’ll have with you as a client. We are dedicated to protecting the security of the personal information obtained from the clients. To do this, we use technical security measures in order to avoid the loss, the misapplication, the modification or the unauthorized leakage of the private info under our control. The measures include, but are not limited to: physical, digital and administrative methods to safeguard and secure the data that we receive on the Internet. When we ask clients to present financial information (for example, a credit card number), this info is masked using the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption method.

Q: What about downtime? Will my web site be unavailable?

A: While we transfer your web site, it will be available both in your hosting account with us and in your account with your previous web hosting provider. Once the transfer is over, we’ll make certain that everything is functioning properly and that the integrity of your data is not jeopardized before informing you that the transfer is finished. After that, we will instruct you how to move the domain over to your hosting account with us and how to change your DNS resource records.

Q: What about downtime? Will my web site be unavailable?
Q: Will my old hosting provider need to provide any information/help?

A: Nope. Apart from your login credentials for the Control Panel, we don’t need anything. We’ll never get in touch with your hosting provider. They will not know anything about the migration either.

Q: Will my old hosting provider need to provide any information/help?
Q: Does it matter what platform my present hosting provider is using?

A: Yeah. We support all common Linux–based web hosting platforms. We don’t support Windows–driven hosting platforms, because we do not offer Windows web hosting solutions ourselves.Additionally, we don’t support proprietary site creation and management tools such as Wix, BaseKit, Jimdo, Website Tonight, Four Square, Mr Site, etc.
