Varnish
Varnish can enormously increase the general performance of your websites. See how to make best use of its power.
Varnish is a content caching platform, which is sometimes called an HTTP reverse proxy. It’s a web app accelerator that can increase the speed of a site by up to 1000%, depending on the content itself. Every time a visitor accesses any page on a site that uses Varnish, the platform caches the page and delivers it instead of the web server in case the visitor opens it again. In this way, the browser request from the visitor is not handled by the web server and the page will open significantly faster, as the Varnish caching platform can deliver data many times faster than any server software. The end result will be a much faster loading page, which leads to an enormously improved visitor experience. When any of the cached webpages is updated on the actual site, the content that Varnish saves in its memory is updated as well, so the visitors will never end up seeing old info.

Varnish in Cloud Web Hosting
You can unleash Varnish’s potential and accelerate the speed of your sites irrespective of the
cloud web hosting plan that you’ve selected and you can enable and configure the content caching platform with a few clicks of the mouse using the simple-to-work-with interface offered by our cutting-edge Hepsia Control Panel. During the process, you will be able to choose two separate things – how many websites will use Varnish, i.e. the number of instances, and how much info will be cached, i.e. the amount of memory. The latter is available in increments of 32 MB and is not tied to the number of instances, so you can order more instances and less memory and vice versa. In case you’ve got plenty of content on a certain website and you draw plenty of visitors, more memory will guarantee you better results. You may also consider using a dedicated IP for the websites that will use the Varnish platform. Hepsia will offer you simple one-click buttons for removing or rebooting any instance, for erasing the cache associated with each site and for viewing detailed system logs.

Varnish in Semi-dedicated Servers
Varnish comes by default with all
semi-dedicated plans offered by our company and you can use it for load distribution purposes. It’s available in your Hepsia Control Panel. The platform comes with 64 megabytes of system memory for cached content storing purposes and you can employ it with any site that you host in your account. If you are in need of more than that, you can increase the memory allocation. The memory itself is available in increments of 32 megabytes through the Control Panel’s Upgrades section. The exact same Upgrades section will allow you to activate more instances as well, if you want to use the Varnish caching platform with more sites. The two things can be added independently – you can cache the content of a single traffic-consuming Internet site or use several websites with the default memory allocation. You can get the most out of the Varnish caching platform if you use a dedicated IP address and you can order one with your semi-dedicated server plan as well. The Hepsia Control Panel will grant you full control over the platform and, with no more than one single click, you’ll be able to delete the cached data, to see a system log or to reboot an instance.

Varnish in Dedicated Servers
If you order a
dedicated server with the Hepsia Control Panel, you’ll obtain the Varnish content caching platform at no extra charge and you’ll have complete control over it via an amazingly intuitive interface – you’ll be able to start, to deactivate or to reboot an instance, to view a comprehensive system log, to delete the cached files associated with any Internet site and much, much more. The Varnish caching platform will have several gigabytes of memory at its disposal, so even if you’ve got resource-requiring websites with many visitors, you’ll notice the much better site loading speeds and the less server load. This will happen soon after you start using Varnish, as it will require some time to cache the content that users request. You can get the most out of the platform’s capabilities in case the websites that are using it use also a dedicated IP address, but since your dedicated server comes with a couple of IP addresses by default, you won’t have to pay anything on top of your monthly fee for the machine itself.
